How to Get a TRC20 Wallet Address
Getting a TRC20 wallet address is straightforward, even for complete beginners. There are two main paths: using a self-custody wallet app, or using a centralized exchange account. Here is how each method works.
Method 1 — TronLink Wallet (Non-Custodial)
- Download the TronLink app from the official App Store or Google Play, or install the Chrome browser extension from the Chrome Web Store.
- Open the app and tap "Create Wallet".
- Set a strong password and write down your 12-word seed phrase on paper. Store it offline in a secure location — never photograph it or save it digitally.
- Once the wallet is created, tap "Receive" to display your TRC20 address.
- Your address starts with "T" and is 34 characters long. Copy it or share the QR code.
Method 2 — Trust Wallet (Non-Custodial)
- Download Trust Wallet from the App Store or Google Play.
- Tap "Create a new wallet" and back up your recovery phrase.
- Tap the "+" button to search for and enable USDT TRC20.
- Open USDT (TRC20) and tap "Receive" to view your TRC20 address.
Method 3 — Centralized Exchange (Custodial)
Most major exchanges — including Binance, KuCoin, and OKX — generate a TRC20 deposit address automatically when you create an account.
- Log in to your exchange account.
- Navigate to Wallet → Deposit → USDT.
- Select TRC20 (TRON) as the network.
- Your TRC20 deposit address will appear. Copy it carefully.
Security Tips
- Never share your seed phrase or private key with anyone.
- Always double-check the first and last few characters of an address before confirming a transaction.
- Enable 2FA (two-factor authentication) on exchange accounts.
- Keep your wallet app updated to the latest version.
